AEC to Present on 3D Composites Testing and Simulation at SAMPE SEATTLE
AEC will be attending the SAMPE SEATTLE 2014 conference in Seattle, Washington June 3-5, 2014. At this event AEC will be exhibiting and presenting on various topics related to 3D composites.
Papers to be presented by AEC: Curved Beam Test Behavior of 3D Woven Composites (scheduled for Tuesday June 3, 4:35 PM, Room 619) and Forming and Performance Analysis of a 3D Woven Composite Curved Beam through Meso-Scale FEA (Scheduled for Thursday June 5, 9:15 AM, Room 619). These two papers complement one another. One focuses on the simulation of a 3D composite beam, while the other focuses on the physical testing performed on that same beam (depicted on the right here). Data from the physical testing has been used to support the simulation results that will be presented.
Panel participation: Jon Goering, AEC Chief Technology Officer – Research & Technology, will also be presenting on the Textiles panel (scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Room 2B).
Additional contributions: AEC additionally contributed to the presentation Experimental Investigation of Single-Bolt, Single-Shear Joints in Three Dimensional Woven Carbon Composites, which is being presented by Kyle Warren from the University of Maine (Scheduled for Thursday June 5, 8:00 AM, Room 619).
Booth information: AEC will be at booth E27.
