Process Belts
| Shoe Press Belts The shoe press is favored globally for its high sheet dryness level and ability to achieve engineered sheet bulk at a high dryness.
Albany International, the first and still the leading shoe press belt supplier, has successfully developed grooved belt technology applicable for all paper grades allowing shoe presses to reach even greater dryness and productivity level.
VentaBelt® Grooved Belt Technology That Works!
Transfer Belts The transfer belt was developed to eliminate open draws between the forming and press sections, within the press section, or between the press and dryer sections. Total sheet support without rewet!
TransBelt® is applicable for a wide range of paper and board grades, machine speeds, and press section configurations, including roll and long nip presses.
Calendar Belts The calender belt is another special elastomeric belt used in the nip of a shoe calender.
GlossBeltTM extends nip dwell time, resulting in superior paper gloss, smoothness, and build relative to traditional calendaring techniques.
Press Belts There are many ways of measuring the suitability of paper on board products for printing. The surface roughness (smoothness) is the most common test, and this can be measured by many different methods: Gurley, Sheffield, Bendsten, Bekk, Parker Print Surf, Emveco -- you may even have your own methods. At Albany, we have developed a new nonporous press product that will significantly increase your paper or board surface smoothness (or reduce its roughness), thus improving your printability.
(VentaBelt, TransBelt, GlossBelt, and PressBelt are trade marks of Albany International)
