A patented filter design has shown very high surface area to volume ratios. These examples are of porous, particulate toughened ceramic composition. A net shape process allows the fabrication of complex porous ceramic structures. Aluminum oxide, mullite and aluminum oxide toughened zirconia formulations are available.
