Historically, founded in 1664 by James Kenyon, a woolen manufacturer and taken over by Albany Felt Co. in 1968, it was then transformed into producing paper making products. Our facility in Bury consists of one 16,500 m² building that is focused on the manufacture of Shoe Press Belts and Transfer Belts.

Bury is a market town on the River Irwell in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, Greater Manchester, England. The town center is famous for its traditional market, with its "world famous" black pudding stalls. (See gallery photo.)

Additionally, born in Bury in 1788, Robert Peel served as Prime Minister in 1834, after founding the Metropolitan police force in 1829, which led to the creation of modern uniformed police forces, otherwise known as 'bobbies'.

Bury has a significant history related to the textile world. John Kay, born at Walmersley, Bury, invested his famous "picking peg" in 1733, which made the shuttle in his hand loom move more quickly. It became known as the "Flying Shuttle" and revolutionized cotton weaving.

Textiles are not manufactured in Bury anymore but the paper industry had grown in the area since the last century. Successful paper mills in Radcliffe and Ramsbottom place Bury among the most important paper making centers in Europe.
